Time

Today I spent over 4.5 hours in my car, 3 hours in various meetings, 2 hours at a doctors appointment and 2 hours with my baby. This is just wrong.

Days like this are when I don't like being a working Mom. Looking forward to a better day tomorrow.

On the bright side, rocking Harper to sleep is the must fulfilling thing I do all day.

BTW... I made good on my promise to Tory Burch this weekend and brought home two pairs of her super cute sandals.

Happy 1/2 Birthday

Harpy is Six Months old now and she continues to amaze us everyday.  She wants to be a big girl so bad.  Everyday is a new day with her.

She got her highchair last month and loves it.  I think it is pretty cool too.  She sits in it every morning while her Nanny drinks coffee and reads the paper.

She has started to eat real baby food every day.  She loves Sweet Potatoes, Green Beans, and Peaches.

She is very close to crawling and will have it down very soon.  Not sure how happy I am about this since I know it will change everything once she is mobile.  Harpy loves to play with all her nieces and nephews.  Her face lights up every time she sees them.  I’m sure she gets at least 1000 kisses each day from all of my family.  She is a very social child and will let anyone hold her.  She is also a very happy baby.  Except for the last two weeks when her teeth are hurting her. We hope that we will see these two teeth soon as they have been the culprit of one fussy baby.

Here are the photos of her with her pink bear.  I take her picture with it every month just to see how she grows.  When we brought her home she was the same size as the bear.

It keeps getting more difficult to get her picture with the bear since she is always on the move.

Birthday Blog

Last weekend we celebrated Chris's 40th Birthday. It has taken me a week to post the details.

On Friday I picked Chris up from work in a Limo. I know it was a little goofy but it was nice to just sit back and enjoy the Friday rush hour drive to downtown with my sweet hubby. We checked in the the Ritz Carlton in Dallas on Friday afternoon. This hotel is beautiful and the staff there is wonderful. We headed down to the Rattlesnake Bar to enjoy an afternoon snack and a little happy drinks before dinner. Chris sand I were able to just sit and have some great conversation. Talk about important things. It is great to know we are both on the same page as to where we want our lives to head in the future.

Our good friends Clay and Debbie met us for dinner and this was a big surprise to Chris. We always have a great time with Clay and Debbie. They are a ton of fun. Chef Dean Feering came by our table several times to chat with us. he looked a little confused when I told him I would like to have the #1 and go ahead value size it since it's a special occasion and all. On a serious note Feerings is one of the best restaurants I have ever been to. Food and service were amazing and if you live in Dallas you must go here sometime.

After Dinner we headed to the back to the bar and enjoyed some of the best people watching I have seen in years. This was the place to see and be seen in Dallas. As a bonus I got to see Sting.

My Mom and Harper came the next morning to pick us up and enjoy a wonderful brunch. Later Chris and I went to hang out with all the crazy Parrot Heads for the Jimmy Buffet concert. Words can't describe everything I saw there and some how i don't have many pictures either. We spent all day in the sun drinking cold beer and hanging out with some friends from the hood.

We finished the weekend with brunch and Blue Mesa and a little shopping.

No crazy Birthday just a good time. Here are the pics.

A Visit from Grandpa

Sorry it has been so long since my last post.  Things have been crazy around here and I pretty sure I worked at least 94 hours last week.

Harper had a great visit from her Grandpa Ron recently.  We had been expecting him for months and it had been a few years since Chris and I had seen his Dad.  It was such a fantastic visit.  I’m pretty sure that Ron fell in love with Harpy in the first few min of meeting her.  It was special to us because he is the only Grandfather she will ever have.  My father passed away 14 years ago.

Chris had a great time with his Dad and they both enjoyed the weekend. We really hope we can make a trip to Seattle soon to visit Grandpa again.  Until then we will just enjoy the memories we made.

Dear Tory Burch

Dear Tory:

This weekend was going to be our time. I was planning on making a secret trip to Neimans this weekend and pick up a new pair of your wonderful shoes. But yesterday I ran over something in the road and blew out my back tire. So instead of shoes for me I had to spend $600 on new shoes for my car. So sad that we our spring meeting will be delayed. I will have to start saving my lunch money again.

Until then I will admire your website.

Love,

Tracy

Our 4 Month Checkup

IMG00126-20100328-1153

We finally had our 4 month checkup today.  It is a little overdue because Harper was too sick for a while to have it done.  Now we are a perfectly healthy baby so it was time to head back to the Doctor.

Stats:

Weight –15 pounds 1 oz – 75th percentile.  Harpy lost some weight when she was sick but she is working hard on putting it back on.

Height – 26 inches – 95th percentile.

The big news is that she is ready to start Cereal.  Hopefully this will get her back to sleeping through the night since for the past 2 weeks she has been waking up for a 3am feeding.

She got 2 vaccines and has been pretty fussy all day since then.  So about noon I decided to stop fighting it and took the day off from work. Much better to comfort her.  I finally got her down for a much needed nap and have now enjoyed 2 hours of no crying and even got to write this Blog.

Gotta Go…. The princess is waking up.
