Harper Michelle Miazga

Sorry we have been so busy that I’m just now able to update my Blog.  Harper Michelle Miazga arrived on Monday, November 23, 2009.  She is 9 pounds 15 oz.  Just 1 oz shy of a full 10  pounds.  We are in LOVE!!!!  Here are some pics.

 

12 Hours

I will be holding my baby in just 12 more hours.  This will be my last post about being prego.  Next post will be pictures of my sweet little Harper.

The Weigh In

Went to see Dr. Peters today for final measurements and one last check up. My fluid is measuring low but he thinks I will be OK until Monday. Harper weighs just under 10pounds according to his measurements. Needless to say this information has led me to the decision to just go ahead with the C Section and forget the idea of trying to deliver her.

The Final Week

Woo Hoo!!! I never thought we would make it to this point. In just one week we will finally be holding our sweet new baby in our arms. Things have been going great for us over the last week. We saw Dr. Peters on Friday and Dr. Bailey this afternoon. Baby is doing GREAT and Mommy is doing good too. We are all set to go to the hospital at 7:30am on Monday, November 23, 2009 to deliver baby Harper. Dr. Bailey hopes to have me home from the hospital on Thanksgiving Day. We will have one more appointment with Dr. Peters on Wednesday just to be sure everything is still going well. He'll take one more last measurement of Harper so we will know on Wednesday just how big this "little" baby is. Chris is getting very nervous and I'm getting excited. I told him we need to get on the same page since last week it was me that was nervous and he was excited. We have a few days to get our act together.

They have webcams set up in all of their rooms so that family and friends can log onto the internet and visit with Chris, Baby Harper, and Myself in a virtual world. Dear Harper:

In just 7 more days I will finally get to hold you in my arms. I just can't believe that the moment I have been praying for is finally going to be here. Words can't express the way I feel.

All my friends have told me that the last few weeks of pregnancy are really difficult. The inability to sleep, being uncomfortable 24 hours a day, and the ranging hormones can really take a toll on a Mommy. I have to say they were all 100% correct. However I want to take a moment to step away from all my begging to God to please send me into labor and focus on the things I will miss about being pregnant:

1. I love that since I have been pregnant with you I never feel like I'm alone. Just the thought of you living and growing inside of me makes me feel special.

2. I love that your Daddy talks to you everyday by leaning over and speaking directly to my tummy. Then he covers it with kisses. This reminds me of how much he loves us both.

3. I love the feeling of you moving inside of me. I cherish every kick and turn. No matter how much it hurts sometimes. I giggle every time you get the hiccups. I love to watch my tummy move when you are up and active.

4. It will miss parking in the "expectant mother parking" at CVS and Market Street. Sometimes it's a wonderful treat to park so close.

5. I get to wear Juicy track suits and flip flops everyday without anyone making a comment. I don't know if I can go back to wearing business suits and high heels.

6. I have an excuse to drink chocolate milk because you need the calcium.

7. My finger nails have never looked so good and my hair is growing like a weed.

8. Taking a nap whenever I feel like I need one.

9. Talking to you all day and telling you about everything I do. It doesn't even cross my mind that I ask you questions you'll never answer. I know in my heart you love to hear me sing.

10. Chris and I talking about what we think you will look like and how our life will change once you are here.

I could list a million things but I don't want bore the heck out of everyone who reads this blog.

37 Weeks and Counting

Happy Monday to everyone.

Chris and I had a great weekend and got time to enjoy our time with family. My sister Christy turned 40 this past week and was really pushing for baby Harper to come early and share a Birthday with her. After our doctor appointment on Friday we thought that it might actually be a possibility. On Friday our amniotic fluid level was measuring low and Dr. Peters thought that we may be on a trend of loosing it too fast. It was at 10 2 weeks ago and was measuring at a 6 on Friday. If it gets down to 4 we would have to deliver the baby ASAP. I went back to see Dr. P today and things are looking much better. Fluid level is back to normal and Harper is doing great. She just doesn't want to come out yet and is determined to be our special Thanksgiving gift. After our appointment with Dr. P went to see Dr. Bailey for my weekly check up. The baby is dong great. Mommy is doing well too. I have lost another 2 pounds which is a great sign that a lot of the fluid that caused so many issues a few weeks ago is coming off. Dr. B says this is from me being a good patient and staying off my feet. I have to admit though that Chirs did allow me to get out of the house on Saturday and enjoy a beautiful day just riding in the car with him. We were even able to enjoy lunch out on a patio at a great Mexican Restaurant. No worries because on Sunday he wouldn't let me off the sofa for anything. So I paid a price for a little bit of freedom.

We only have two weeks left at this point and we are both getting very anxious. I just can’t wait to meet our sweet baby!

I go back to see Dr. P on Friday and then Dr. B on Monday so I will send an update as soon as we hear some more news.

Looking forward to Monday

Not too much to post today.  We went to the doctor on Friday and my amniotic fluid was measuring low.  So Dr. Peters asked me to go ahead and come back on Monday to measure it again and see what is going on .  It was at a 10 two weeks ago and on Friday it was measuring at 6.  If it gets down to 4 then we will need to deliver the baby.  I will see Dr. P at 2pm then Dr. B at 4pm to find out what is going on.  As far as I’m concerned Harper can come out anytime.  I’m ready for her to come so the sooner the better for me.

Week 35

I hope you are having a great week and getting an opportunity to enjoy some of the beautiful Fall weather we are having this week. After all the rain in October the Sunshine is a welcome friend.

Last week was a rough week for me. I was just not feeling well and had some issues with Blood Pressure and swelling. As the week went on I started to feel a little better and was able to get rid of a little of the fluid I have been retaining. The full time bedrest really helped and I 'm doing pretty good and following the doctors orders.

We saw my OB, Dr. Bailey, yesterday. Harper is doing great and seems to show no signs of wanting to leave my body anytime soon. She continues to get bigger and bigger. We are measuring at 40 weeks right now. I'm only at 35 weeks so she is still one very big baby. I did manage to loose 1 pound of the 15 that I gained recently. I was hoping for more but at this point I'm just happy that I didn’t gain any weight. We have an appointment to see the specialist on Friday morning and will find out how much Harper weighs at that time. Chris and I are pretty confident that she's at least 9 pounds. I asked Dr. B if there was any chance that she induce us earlier then 11/23/2009 due to Harper's size and her answer was No. Only if the baby starts to show some sign of distress. She will let her get as big as she wants to. I also asked if I could come off full time bedrest and go back to modified bedrest. Her answer was absolutely not. I can go off bedrest once the baby comes.

I was able to get a H1N1 vaccination on this visit so that will ease my mind a little since I have been so scared of getting the Flu.

Chris finished the Nursery this week so I have attached some pictures.

Saving the Planet one street at a time

Chris and I got out of the house for a little while yesterday. When we got home I pulled into our driveway and saw the Regan and Reid coming down the street. Regan was walking with a big plastic bag full of stuff and Reid was be behind her riding her bike. They stoped to say hello and have a little conversation.

Me: Hi Girls. How are you today? Regan, what's in your bag?

Regan: Oh don't worry aunt Kiki that is just all my trash. I'm saving the earth. I am picking up all the trash in the neighborhood and putting in this bag so earth can be healthy.

Me: Wow Regan that is really nice of you. What is Reid doing?

Regan: She counts the trash as I pick it up.

Then she reached down and pickup a cigarette butt and put in in her bag and went along her happy little way.

I think I would rather have Reid's job and just count the trash.

If Craig Ranch looks a little nicer today you have these two to thank for it.
