Job Review

I have spent the day writing annual performance reviews for my sales team at work. The whole process got me thinking. What if I were to give myself an annual review? Not on the job I do at work but more on the work I do in life. So below is a list of a few components that I believe are key competencies of me as a person. Hope you enjoy my review:

All scores are based on a scale of 1-5 with 5 being the highest and 1 being the lowest.

Wife - I think I am a pretty good wife to Chris. I love him more than I love anything in this world. Sometimes I wonder if he is aware of how much I love him. I am able to take care of him and he knows I am his biggest fan. My biggest area of opportunity on this category comes from an intimacy perspective. I blame most of that on our fertility issues. The only way we know how to have sex is if a doctor tells us what day and time to do it and how long it should last. This is something I am confident we can work through. So my wife score is a 4.5.

Family - I am a pretty good kid. It helps that I was blessed with a Mother who ROCKS!. I could do a better job at communicating with my Sister Christy and my Brother. I am the Aunt that I always wished I had. Fun to hang out with out and full of hugs and love. I could do a better job in building a relationship with Chris's sister and her children. It is just difficult because they live so far away and we don't see them much. I could also work on building a relationship with Chris's Dad and Stepmother. They are the only family he has left and we really need to work harder to make them part of our life. So I give myself a score of 4 on a family scale.

Friend - I am easy to get to know at first but have a hard time letting people be really close to me. I suck at communicating with people on a regular basis. That is one reason why I started this blog. I either get busy or feel like I don't want to interrupt other people's lives. I have a few close girlfriends who really know me. They also know that when times are tough I will be there for them. I try not to judge people. I am bad about keeping up with friends and wish I was better. I give myself a score of 3.75.

Christian - This is the area of my life I need to develop the most. Thankfully I have a few friends who I look to for mentor ship in this area. They know who they are. Their love and devotion to the Lord is an inspiration to me every day. I hope to one day have a relationship like theirs. I get a 2 in this category.

Work - I feel like I do a great job at work. I am a devoted employee who cares about her job and the success of her team. Marriott gets all I have to give when it comes to work. I deserve at least a 5 in this category.

Health
- I could really use more help in this area. I am trying to be better about working out and eating better but it is really hard. Once again I am blessed to have friends who inspire me to take care of myself physically. I believe that health is a combination of both physical and mental health. What I lack in physical strength I make up for in mental strength. I am in a better place mentally then I have been in a long time. So in this category I give myself a score of 3.5.

So there it is my review of me.... TRACY.

I encourage you to take a moment to stop and evaluate where you are at as a person. Have your identified the area of your life that are most important to you? Are you committed to improving them?

Gee I sound like a motivational speaker....

Holding Pattern

That is what I feel like Chris and I are in right now.

The holidays have come and gone and the new year is in full swing. For the first time this weekend Chris and I have felt that we are just sitting here waiting for something great to happen in our lives.

I had the miscarriage on Thanksgiving while we were on vacation. So once we got home things were just crazy with holiday festivities. We never really had time to really stop and think about what had happened to us. Now time has caught up with us and we feel like we are just stuck. Life seems to be on hold while we wait for my cycle to do what it needs to. Did I ever mention that I am not good at waiting? Hopefully it will be just a few more weeks and we can thaw out the 2 embryos we have in storage and try to get prego again.

I am so ready to be a mother. I just don't know what to do with myself. I don't want to become one of those bitter women I see on fertility message boards. You know the ones who are always crying "why me????". It is like they get angry at every pregnant woman they see. Please God never let me be one of those ladies. I know the lord has a plan for Chris and I. I understand that it may be something that we never expected. Like a surrogate Mother or Adoption. I am just ready to find out what that is. So this is the time that I will lean on the Lord. The time when I feel I can't do it myself is the time that my faith will grow deeper.

So I will stay in this holding pattern knowing that our plane will land one day. But I just can't help but to keep looking out the window and hoping it will be soon.

I'm Baaaaaack.....

OK so I have finally got my fat but back to the Cooper. WOOO HOO! I feel so much better when I work out. I need to keep that in mind when I am complaining about going to work out. Goal for the week - 5 visits to the Cooper.

I also took a 48 hour break from he Internet and email over the weekend. I have to say to was a nice little break. No Facebook, No Blogging, No Celebrity Gossip and No Shopping and most of all NO MARRIOTT Email. Life was pretty good.

Things I got done..... the pantry is organized, garage is clean, house is clean, laundry done.

Good Times

Work has really been kicking me in the ass lately. In fact I have been so burried at work that I have not been able to do much else but work over the last week.

So hubby decided to make me take a break. He called me at work this afternoon to tell me that we were going to the Stars game tonight. I love to go to hockey games. So that is what we did and I had a wonderful time! Watch a great overtime win for the Stars against the Detroit Red Wings.

Thanks to Hubby! He ROCKS!

The people watching at the game was great. I just laugh every time I see the Ice Girls. Who decided to have dancers at a Hockey game? They do provide me with tons of entertainment.

OH.... And we were on the big screen tonight at the game. That is the first time I have ever been in the Jumbo-tron. Do people still call it that?

What I have become

I have become that person. You know the one at Starbucks that you hate to be behind. They have the complicated order that is full of words you never knew were meant to be part of a coffee order.

Yesterday Chris and I drove through Starbucks and here was my order...

"Grande triple shot non-fat no whip Cinnamon Dolce Latte 140 degrees"

At first Chris refused to order it for me but he eventually broke down and did it. Now that is what I call love.

I'm not saying that I am proud to be a complicated Starbucks customer but it is just who I have become.

Thank you Rhonda for introducing me to the 140 degree part. It has changed my life!

No Fun Tracy

I have not been blogging much this week because to be honest I am just in a bad mood.

Maybe it is the sty that developed in my eye 3 days ago. Big shout out to Reid for giving that to me. This thing is getting bigger by the day and it looks nasty. Thankfully my sister took Reid to the doctor to have her sty looked at and he gave her some meds. So I am now sharing meds with my 5 year old niece.

Maybe it is the fact that work is really kicking me in the the ass right now. I am killing myself trying to to micro manage my sales team and ensure our success for 2009. Please do me a favor and go stay at a Marriott hotel or convince your company to host a meeting a Marriott hotel. It would really make my life easier.

Maybe it is because I finally started my first cycle after the miscarriage and I have been in terrible pain for the last 2 days. A big shout out for endometriosis.... It ROCKS!!! Dr. Kevin removed all of it last January when I had surgery but now it has had a year to grow back and it feels awesome!

Maybe is has to do with the fact the Citibank has screwed up my credit report and getting it fixed is next to impossible. How can I possibly have a late payment in September and October of 2007 on a credit card that I paid off in June of 2006? Please explain this to me..... Oh that is what Mike the customer service rep in India was happy to do. I think he told me he will be sending me the paper work.

Maybe it is because it is January 9th and I still haven't gotten my fat butt back to the Cooper to work out. Must start this weekend.

Maybe it is because every meal that I have cooked this week has tasted like cardboard. I mean really bad. Chris finally gave up tonight and asked if we could just go our for burgers.

See I told you I am in a bad mood. yes it happens even to the best of us.

Peace out!

Why I love January

January is the month that I take the time to clear out some of the clutter in my life. I usually pick a project or two and go at it full force. Last year it was my organizing my closet and I am happy to say that it still looks pretty good.

This year there are three things.

#1 The Garage. We have a 3 car garage that we park only 1 car in. Chris and I are determined to change that this year and finally get both cars in the garage. We are well on our way. Called for our bulk trash pickup last week and threw away some of the crap then. Chris has installed the new Elfa Shelving in the main garage. Now all we have to do is get everything up on the shelves.

The linen closet in the the master bedroom is project #2 and I am happy to say I conqured it today. I can actually see all 30 sets towles that I have purchased over the last year. I have more "travel" size things than any one human needs. So if anyone is going on trip just stop by my house and I can hook you up.

I have saved the best for last...... It is the the pantry. I have just been putting this off for so ling as I dread it. I MAY try to start on it over the weeekend.

Two down one to go... not so bad for January 2.

I think I may add painting to the list.... Let me know if you have any color suggestions for the casa.
