The end of my love affair

All things must come to an end and on Saturday I ended my love affair with my Blackberry. For the last 8 years we have been inseparable. Here are a few of the things we did together:

1. From 2006 - 2008 we boarded an American Airlines flight 143 times and logged over 300,000 miles in the air.

2. We traveled all over the Caribbean and Hawaii together. Even though Chris made me turn you off I was still able to sneak a little time with you while he was asleep.

3. I dropped you in the toilet when I took a little potty break at happy hour one night and to my surprise you came back to life.

4. I left Blackbeery #9 in a rental car in San Francisco in 2008. Or as I like to say "I left my heart in San Francisco".

5. You entertained me while i spent countless hours in the airport and at doctors appointments over the last few years.

6. You were the first thing I woke up to every morning.

7. You froze your butt off with me in Ottawa, Canada one February when I was locked in a hotel room with the flu you rang every time Chris called to check on me.

8. You were a great alarm reminding me when to feed Harper.

9. You got me through at least 2,986 boring Marriott meetings.

10. You were a great companion.

I will miss you Crackberry but I had t trade you for an IPhone because they are awesome and I can read an excel spreadsheet much better on them.

RIP little friend!

Perception

As I was leaveing for work yesterday I ran into one of my neighbors. It was great to see her so I stopped to chat. She is a single Mom who teaches elementary school and has great personality. Super fun girl and is always the life of the party.

As I got out of the car she complimented me and said that I looked pretty in my business suit and how much she liked my hair. I'm never one to accept compliments very well so I laughed it off and told her thank you. She mentioned how she thinks my job must be so much fun and told me that she would love to have my life. It was a great compliment but made me a little uncomfortable. The entire way to work I thought about her comment and couldn't help to say... "If she only knew how my life was going". Guess her perception is much different from my reality.

Kimmi this blog is for you. Did you know this....

My hair looked different because I overslept and didn't have time to wash it. It was very dirty a little greasy and may have even smelled dirty. I was worried all day that someone would notice. Thanks for making me feel a little better about it.

On my drive in to work I spent half an hour on the phone with one of my sales people having a very uncomfortable conversation that I'm still not sure I have let go of yet.

My daughter cried so hard when I left the house that I started to cry and that was the exact moment that I saw you. I wiped my tears away before I got out of my car to say hello (bet you didn't see that).

I love my job and I work for an amazing company but in the last 6 months I have been at a stress level of 236%.

My lovely suit is one size too small so I had to pour myself into Spanx to so it would fit right making it difficult to breathe all day.

The cute trendy sunglasses you complemented me on are the ones I got off the sales rack at Dillard's during the summer clearance sale. I bought 4 pairs that day and they are the only ones that have not broken yet.

My point here is that perception is always different then reality. Yesterday morning you thought I had it all together when in reality I felt like I was just hanging by a string. So I ask my bolg followers out there (all 4 of you) what do you think people's perception is of you? And how does it differ from your reality?

Kimmi - I think you are an amazing Mom and teacher. You are able to bring great amounts of joy into the lives of those around you and are tons of fun to hang out with. You are always happy and willing to help anyone out. That is my perception of you.

Thank God for perception.

Ho Ho Holiday

Can't beleive it is already that time of the year. here are a few things I love about Christmas:

1. Wrapping Paper - I've never been a fan of gift bags. I love to pick up pretty wrapping paper and wrap all my gifts. I think there is more excietment in tearing off wraping paper then just pulling tissue out of a bag. I love the sound of the paper as it crinkles and the anticipation of what is under it.

2. Christmas lights - I could drive around every night and look at them. There is even a house in my neighborhood that has one of those awesome light shows set to music. It makes me happy everytime I see it.

3. Starbucks Red Cups - They make me happy and my skinny pepermint mocha taste better when it comes in one of these.

4. Christmas Dresses - I could buy haper 100 of these. I LOVE them all. Of course she only has a few places to wear them so if you see my kid up at Market Street wearing a beautiful silk plaid holiday dress to do a little grocery shopping. It's not beacause she is going anywhere her Mommy just couldn't resist.

5. Peppermint Bark

6. Christmas Ornaments - I buy thousands of them every year. I also collect the Whitehouse Christmas ornaments and have a tree dedicated to just them. They were handed down to me from Chris's Mom and I have continued to add to them every year.

7. Christmas Vacation - Best Christmas movie ever.

That's all for now. I'm sureI'll add more to the list.

One Cool Night

I have never been a sports fan. Maybe it's because I was dragged to 2,578 football games in my lifetime. My Dad and brother are huge sports fans and Sundays were always spent wathcing football. Dad played Baseball and Gerrod played football in college these were the only two sports I was ever really exposed to growing up.

Chris is a huge sports fan. He loves it all.... Football, Golf, Basketball, Soccer, Baseball. He goes nuts when the Olympics are on and has even become a fan of curling. However Hockey has always been his true love. When our relationship turned serious 10 years ago I knew that I would need to learn to love Hockey as well. It was the year the Dallas Stars won the Stanley Cup and that was enough to get me hooked. Chris has spent hours teaching me about the game and answering my stupid questions over and over again. Two years ago Chris got his wish and we became season ticket holders for the Dallas Stars. I have enjoyed going to games, even when I was 9 months pregnant. Every game Chris makes the comment that one day he wants to sit right behind the glass at a game. he wants to sit behind the goal and just watch the game form that perspective. Tickets in this are are over $300 each. I promised Chris that when he was ready to let off the wallet and buy the tickets would not be angry. I would go to the game and enjoy it with him. Last week I made a little call to our Dallas Stars sales rep and asked for a little help. B-Rad let me know he would see what he could do and would stop by our seats in the 1st period of the game.

What do you know.... B-RAD hooked a girl UP!!!!! For free!!!!

Here is what our view looked like

We won in overtime and it was FANTASTIC.

The Triple P

Today has been a day of what I like to call the TRIPLE P. I have experienced each component of the PPP through the day and all before 12:00 noon.

This morning it was PUKE. Harper threw up on me and the sofa. She later threw up on my Mom, her Aunt CC, and in my car.

Then next it was PEE as I was inserting some medicine in her little bottom. She decided it would be a great time to pee on me.

We finished off the third component of the TRIPLE P just before lunch with POOP. All over me as I went to pick up the stinky little sweetheart.

There you have it people the TRIPLE P.

GLAMOROUS!!! That is the life I lead. I don't think I want to work form home anymore. Looks like I will be heading to the office tomorrow where my co-workers are much more considerate.

Mommy has a life too

I spend so much time blogging about Harper that sometimes I forget that I have a life too. So here is what Mommy has been up to:

Work is crazy as always. I'm preparing to go through a re-organization in 2011 and things are nuts at work. I will loose my job and have to apply for a new one, interview and get trained. Trust me it sounds much scarier then it really is. It's an amazing opportunity for me to grow my career. Now I just have to do my current job, keep my sales team focused and functioning all while we prepare to interview with a company where we have worked for the last 10 years.

It's Hockey season so Chris and I are busy going to Stars games. I love them because it's like a built in date night. I am now a true hockey fan and really love the game. I have a feeling that this Spring there will be lots of Dallas Stars fans coming out of the wood work as they are of to an amazing start.

I have stopped watching football because all my teams suck...

Right now I should be on a plane to Washington DC for a week of training but my class got canceled on Friday and I'm bummed about it. I was really looking forward to going to this class and needed motivation form it.

I'm in a great bible study right now that I really enjoy. There is lots of work to it but I'm learning lots. My friend Jody is doing an wonderful job at leading it and keeping all the ladies focused.

Planning a 1st Birthday party is lots of work. Last week I decided to ditch the elaborate party I was planning and just do something simple. Thanks to one of my friend Vadran for talking sense into me and letting me know I was overdoing it. You are always the voice of reason.

Just Breathe

Harper has been sick since last Friday and even though she acts like she feels fine she is having problems breathing. Last Friday we put her on a steroid, some antibiotics and dusted off the nebulizer tho start up breathing treatments. She was pretty good all weekend but Monday and Tuesday were just terrible for her. Mom called me at work today to let me know that she was worried about Harpy and thought we may need to take her back in to see the Doctor. She was struggling with her breathing all day. A quick 4:30pm trip to Craig Ranch Pediatrics and Harper is OK. We are doing breathing treatments every 3 hours for the next 10 days. I hate to have to go through this with Harpy. It breaks my heart to hold her down and make her do it. I know that there are many people out there with much worse problems then mine and that Harpy will grow out of this but for me in my little world it makes me sad.

Happy Holloween

here she is our sweet little Kitty Cat

Trip to the Arboretum

On Sunday we packed up the family and headed to the Dallas Arboretum to enjoy a beautiful fall day. We had an amazing time playing with over 40,000 pumpkins and enjoyed a picnic lunch on the lawn. The pictures tell it all.

Harper is crazy about her Daddy

Lets Go Stars

We celebrated our first Halloween with a very busy weekend. On Saturday Chris Harper and I went to the Stars Game. Harper loves to go the games with us. She likes to eat a big soft pretzel, dance to the music, and clap when the Stars score a goal. Here she is at the game enjoying her pretzel.

The best part about going to the game is that on the way home Harper does this.

Yep She’s My Kid

Harper is 10 months old today.  Her personality is really starting to shine through.  She’s walking all over the palace so we decided that it is time for some shoes.  Of course I can’t  just buy her one pair of shoes. I head to the local Stride Rite to pick her up some “sensible walking shoes” ,  you know the cute white ones with pink flowers that come all the way up to the ankle.

They look like this

walking shoes

And then I get her these for our upcoming trip:

trip shoes

After we picked up some comfy walkers.  I headed over Nordstrom to get her some sassy shoes to wear on our cruise:

sassy shoes

She went home and tried them all on and in the end she also found a new favorite toy.  A small Nordstrom shopping bag that she a carries all the around the house. Whenever you try to take it away form her she cries. Yep…. She’s my kid.

This afternoon the handle on the bag broke and  there’s a big tear in it.  Guess we need to go shopping for a new toy.  Hmmmmm…. what should Mommy get to go in the bag.

Patriot Day

Old%20American%20Flag(1)

Like many Americans I find myself thinking back to that horrible day when terrorist attacked our country.  It was a day that many forever changed our loves and our country.  I’m reminded of the many innocent people who lost their lives that day and pray that their families.

For the past 3 years I have spent  9/11 honoring the women and men who serve the City of Fort Worth with my fellow associates at Marriott.  We serve lunch and dinner to all of the first responders and take time to thank them for all they do for the people of Fort Worth. It is one of the community service event that we that I love the most (along with welcoming the troops home at DFW Airport).

Thank you to all of you who serve our country in different ways weather it be at home or abroad.

We will never forget.  God Bless America.

I was like a Teenage Girl at a Jonas Brother Concert

On Saturday night I went with some of my Best Friends to see this HOT Man

johnmayer300

I heart John Mayer.  I really believe that he sings to me and only me.  His music is amazing and when he plays the guitar my heart goes  pitter patter.  Now I understand how all those 12 year old girls at a JoBro (that is what my nieces call them) concert.

My besties and I met for dinner before the concert at one of my favorites Chuy's.  The Jalapeño Ranch dressing there is awesome.  Terrible for the diet but oh so yummy.

We did a little of this…….

Girls

beer

Drank some crazy 40 oz beers

Tracy and Jen

Laughed like we were teenagers

jen and amy

tracy

I saw my very first concert ever with this girl when we were 13 years old.  It was George Michael and at the time we loved him (we were too young  to realize he is gay)   Last time wee were all together at a concert  I think it was 1991 and we saw the Cure or Depeche Mode.  Many thing have changed since then but  we still know how to have a great time.

To our hubbies – Sorry we may have acted like crazy little  girls, and sent you text messages that were silly, but it was all in the name of fun.  Thanks for being awesome and letting us have a wonderful girls night.

9 Months

I have been such a bad Mommy this last month and ave not taken many pictures of Harper. I just never seem to have the camera around at the right time because Harper seems to always be on the move. It is a workout just to keep up with her. Here is the rundown as to what is going on in Harpy world.

She loves to eat Cheerios more then anything in the world. Thanks to these wonderful little treats we are able to go out to restaurants again. I small containers of these will keep her busy for at least an hour.

She can hold her on own bottle but prefers for you to do it for her.

Harpy has moved on to eating big people food. So far she loves avocados, mashed potatoes, re fried beans, bananas, and of course Cheerios.

She can stand on her own without holding on to anything for about 6 seconds.

Harpy can take one step all be herself but falls when she goes to take the next one.

Says "Mama" and Nannie".... Still waiting on Daddy

Can wave hello and good bye

Drinks for a sippy cup. Loves to drink water form a water bottle or Mommies cup.

Takes a Bath in the real bath tub.

Can crawl through he dogie door. (we just got the hang of that today)

She just got her first Passport and is ready to go on our family vacation in October.

However she still can;t sleep through the night. Unless you count 8pm - 4:30am as "through the night".

Insomnia

I have it and it sucks! I hate when I get like this. Typically I'm a really good sleeper and I'm the kind of person who needs a solid 6-7 hours each night just to function like a normal person. Lack of sleep makes me very moody and cranky. My hubby only needs 4-5 hours of sleep a night and he feels like a champ. Unfortunatly I just can't do that.

So here it is 2am and I have been trying to catch some zzzzz's since 10pm. I now stress does this to me. It prevents me from getting any kind of rest and makes it impossible for me to shut my brain down and relax. So what in the world do I lay in bed thinking about? Here are a few totally random thoughts that are keeping me up tonight and preventing me from getting my much needed beauty sleep.

1. The three 2011 Budgets that I have do for the different business units I manage that I have not even opened the files for yet. They are due on 8/30/2010.

2. Have I completed all the HR paper work I need to do for the new associates I just hired? Do I even know what all paper work I need to complete?

3. The associate that I have on Medical leave that may be coming back soon. Have my prayers been answered and I will get my sweet wonderful Suprina back? Please God let this be true.

4. Harper is 9 months old and I have not updated her baby book in the last 6 months.

5. I missed Harper's 9 month check up today because I had to be at a meeting for work. Just one of the the 2,000 times a day that I feel guilty for being a working Mom.

6. I love the smell and feel of the new leather sofa I bought for the living room downstairs. Now will I have to compltetly re-decorate the entire room just because I changed the sofa?

7. Harper starts on table food this week and I want to be sure I'm feeding her the right things. Up to this point we have been all organic with baby food. Do I want to continue this?

8. Should Chris and I move forward with our family vacation plans for November?

9. A conversation I had with an associate at work today that I keep replaying in my mind over and over again.... Did I do the right thing?

10. Looking forward to a night out with some of my girlfriends to see John Mayer in concert. I can't wait for this.

11. My sisters health and her visit tot he ER tonight. I always worry about Christy and her seizures.

12. I feel like going on a nice long walk right now but just don't think that would be the best decision at 2am.

13. Responding to the 1243 emails that are in my inbox right now.

14. This time last year I was very prego and just about to be put on bed rest. As miserable as I was I loved being prego and I sometimes miss that feeling.

15. I want to have another baby but just don't want to do all that I have to do to get pregenant again. IVF is just too much for me to even think about going through again right now.

16. How awesome Harper is and how much I love her.

17. Why do I have hot flashes all the time when I don't take any form of hormones??? This was something I got used to when I was going through fertility treatments. Why the heck do I have them now?

18. The gargage - It is a mess and needs to be cleaned out so we can park all of our cars in them. Don't think we have ever parked a car in the 3rd car garage.

19. What should Harpy be for Halloween? I keep getting catalogs in the mail everyday with super cute costumes.

20. Why are there so many darn flies this year and and why do they all want to come live in my house?

21. A party. I want to have one but have no idea on what theme to do or for what occassion.

22. School. How cute all my friends kiddos looked today and how much I enjoyed seeing all the pics on facebook.

23. Cold. Now I'm freezing. See what I mean about hot flashes.

24. Prayer. Looking forward to dinner on Wednesday with my bible study group. I could use a little fellowship with some great ladies.

25. Did I give Ginger enough to do at work and was I clear with her on what needs to be accomplished? I hope so because it is wonderful to have hoer on my team.

26. The Real Housewives...... I was dissappointed in the show tonight with the NJ ladies but can't wait to see the reunion show. I thought I would hate the DC group but I am hooked on the show now. Who the heck are the two new people that are going to be on Atlanta? What did they do with Lisa?

OK enough of this. I'm begining to bore myself. Think I will take a break and watch some DVR Shows.

XOXO,

Sleeping Beauty

Mama

I heard it for the first time tonight and I just can’t get enough of it.  My Mom and sister have  been telling me that all this week when Harpy gets upset she says “Mama”.  I was so upset because it’s always when I’m at work and that breaks my heart.  Tonight we were at my sisters for dinner and she said it twice.  Then we went home and it was just  Harpy and me and she looked up at me put her arms out to me and said it…….. “Mama”

Thank you God for this amazing life.

Eight Months

Harper turned eight months this week.  She is really developing her own little personality and lets all of us know what she wants.

Here she is with her bear.  I remember when they were the same size.

DSC03032

She got a new car seat to ride in when she is in Daddy’s car.  It is just too big for Mommy’s car.  She still has to ride rear facing but she can turn forward facing when she is 1.  She loves the seat it seems to be much more comfortable then the little one.

DSC03028

Her first teeth came in two weeks ago and she is ready to get the two top ones soon.

DSC03047

Harpy loves to play with her cousins, cruise around the living room and eat her baby food.

Excel

Dear fellow Marriott associates:

When I have to scroll to collumn DH to view information in an Excel Spreadsheet your spread is too big and has way too much information on it. Clearly someone much smarter them me created this worksheet and I have a great amount of respect for them and their brainpower. However my hand hurts form all the maneuvering I have to do in this thing and I may be developing carpal tunnel.

Thank you for listening.

Food Porn

I have a friend on facebook who is always posting what she is cooking that day. I swear this girl should be in some kind of advertising because she could make dog crap sound like something I would want to eat. She is always cooking organic this and that, picking fresh berries from her backyard to make pancakes, or whipping up some nutella cream cheese brownies. Who does that? If I make brownies they come from a box and have the name Betty Croker attached to them. My pancakes are the kind that the directions are to "just add water", and the only thing that grows in my back yard are weeds and grass. So this chick amazes me. In fact a few of the CR ladies and I have started to refer to her post as "food porn". Here are a few examples of her posts.....

"C" has balsamic-brown butter glazed broccolini & buttered pasta cooking in the stove and a sinfully good cake in the oven while the husband smokes chicken outside.....time to pour some wine

"c" is making balsamic glazed chicken breasts, roasted tomato-basil-fresh mozzerella pasta, and a fresh peach-blueberry tart.......guess I should figure out a veggie too......candied carrots?

"C" has tequila lime fajitas going on the grill and mango coladas going on the blender! Happy 4th everyone

See what I mean. Maybe I should start posting my meals and see if they get the same reaction.

Breakfast today would read like this:

Tracy Miazga is.... Having a plain toasted English muffin, that I toasted for too long so it is just slightly burned with 3 squirts of I can't believe it's not butter and 4 cups of coffee.

Lunch:

Tracy Miagza just went to Subway and had a 6 inch Ham on wheat with all the veggies and mustard.

Just doesn't have the same ring to it.

Thanks "C" for all the food porn. I wish I could cook like you.

Stalker

It's official I am a stalker. I have become obssesed with reading the blogs of two people that I don't even know. I check them everyday for updates and I feel like I know these two famalies. I found thier blogs through mutual friends and I love reading about thier lives. I know I'm crazy. I have even been pondering the idea of reaching out to one of the bloogers to let them know how much I enjoy reading thier blog but I think that may just be CREEPY.

I wonder if anyone stalks my blog? I doubt it.... I'm not a very intresting person.

Good night from your local crazy blog stalker.

Peaches

peaches

Our neighbor has a peach tree that has gone nuts this summer and my Mom feels like she is personally responsible for putting each and every peach off that tree to use.  She has been on a peach cobbler making mission this weekend and I have to say my house smells divine.  Yesterday she made 4 yes FOUR full size cobblers and had enough peaches to make at least 10 more.  She also made peach jam last week (12 jars).  Next on the list Homemade Peach Ice Cream.  I think we should start taking orders and delivering them to our CR Friends.

The best part of it all is this brings back such dear memories form my childhood. We had a ton of peach tress in my Nana’s backyard and every summer she would  make cobblers, pies, ice cream, jam, and can the peaches.  I hope to one day teach Harper how to do all of this so I guess I need to start taking notes.

Please feel free to place your peach order in the comments section.

A Whole Lot of Nothing

I have not been on the “Blogging Band Wagon” much because to be honest there just isn't to much going on in my life right now.  Here is a little run down:

Harper is a Maniac.  The sweet little girl is crawling everywhere.  She crawls until she finds a place where she can pull up and then uses the furniture to “cruise” around the house.  She plays all day until she is exhausted.  Sweet little thing will wear you out.  I Love her more then anything in the world and everyday with her is a ton of fun.

My Mom is fabulous. She and Harper are such a cute little team.  I learned over the weekend that they have a very strict schedule during the week. My Mom was gone for 2 days last weekend and by Sunday morning I was sending her text messages from Harper telling her that we demand that she come home immediately. I’m so blessed to have her and realized how much I rely on her.  Thank you Mom for all you do to make Motherhood so much easier.

New rule at our house is that Nanny can not be gone for more then 24-hours.  Not sure if this rule was created by Harper or me, but I tell everyone it’s Harper’s rule.

Chris is working like a crazy man all the time.  Although it would be great if is company were selling more pools.  We need the loan market to open up more for  this happen.

My job is very busy right now since I’m short two Sales Managers.  Hopefully I will find the right candidate this week and get some people hired.   I ‘m back in my Summer Bible Study this year and it is something I Iook  forward to each week.  Such an amazing group of ladies to enjoy each week.  I have been spending time with friends and enjoying a night out occasionally.

We are trying to plan a trip to Colorado in September to see our family and catch CU vs CSU game in Denver over Labor Day weekend.  Then try to head to Vail for a few days.  I hope we work it out as Vail is one of my favorite  places.

See pretty boring around here and I’m just fine with that.

Brings tears to my eyes

I know this may bore many of you but I just got it today and I think it is AMAZING. It made me cry the first time I watch because Maggie did a great job at capturing Harpy's personality.

Thanks Maggie!

Back tothe JW

We are heading out in the morning to go back to the JW Marriott in San Antonio. Chris and I will spend one night alone there and then my Mom will bring Harper there on Friday. Things I'm looking forward to:

A five hour drive with Chris listening to music and catching up.

Stopping in West Texas for those awesome kolaches they make.

Stopping in San Marcus for some retail therapy..... Hello Pottery Barn Outlet.

Playing golf with Chris on Friday Morning. It has been well over a year since we last played together.

Spending the weekend with on some my very best friends in the world.

Getting to see my wonderful friend Vadran for the first time since Harper was born. I can't wait to hug her and see her beautiful children. I miss her so much!

Sliding down a water slide at the resort. It makes me feel young again.

Celebrating my birthday on Sunday with some really wonderful people.

Sunday drive through the Texas Hill Country with a little Pat Green and Willie Nelson playing on the stereo.

Houston....... We have a Crawler

Last night Harpy crawled for the first time. It is so funny to watch her do it. I know that now she is mobile our lives will never be the same. Chris is very excited about this milestone and to be honest it scares me to death. I will try to get a video of it and post it soon. I hope this is not an indication of an early walker.

Time

Today I spent over 4.5 hours in my car, 3 hours in various meetings, 2 hours at a doctors appointment and 2 hours with my baby. This is just wrong.

Days like this are when I don't like being a working Mom. Looking forward to a better day tomorrow.

On the bright side, rocking Harper to sleep is the must fulfilling thing I do all day.

BTW... I made good on my promise to Tory Burch this weekend and brought home two pairs of her super cute sandals.

Happy 1/2 Birthday

Harpy is Six Months old now and she continues to amaze us everyday.  She wants to be a big girl so bad.  Everyday is a new day with her.

She got her highchair last month and loves it.  I think it is pretty cool too.  She sits in it every morning while her Nanny drinks coffee and reads the paper.

She has started to eat real baby food every day.  She loves Sweet Potatoes, Green Beans, and Peaches.

She is very close to crawling and will have it down very soon.  Not sure how happy I am about this since I know it will change everything once she is mobile.  Harpy loves to play with all her nieces and nephews.  Her face lights up every time she sees them.  I’m sure she gets at least 1000 kisses each day from all of my family.  She is a very social child and will let anyone hold her.  She is also a very happy baby.  Except for the last two weeks when her teeth are hurting her. We hope that we will see these two teeth soon as they have been the culprit of one fussy baby.

Here are the photos of her with her pink bear.  I take her picture with it every month just to see how she grows.  When we brought her home she was the same size as the bear.

It keeps getting more difficult to get her picture with the bear since she is always on the move.

Birthday Blog

Last weekend we celebrated Chris's 40th Birthday. It has taken me a week to post the details.

On Friday I picked Chris up from work in a Limo. I know it was a little goofy but it was nice to just sit back and enjoy the Friday rush hour drive to downtown with my sweet hubby. We checked in the the Ritz Carlton in Dallas on Friday afternoon. This hotel is beautiful and the staff there is wonderful. We headed down to the Rattlesnake Bar to enjoy an afternoon snack and a little happy drinks before dinner. Chris sand I were able to just sit and have some great conversation. Talk about important things. It is great to know we are both on the same page as to where we want our lives to head in the future.

Our good friends Clay and Debbie met us for dinner and this was a big surprise to Chris. We always have a great time with Clay and Debbie. They are a ton of fun. Chef Dean Feering came by our table several times to chat with us. he looked a little confused when I told him I would like to have the #1 and go ahead value size it since it's a special occasion and all. On a serious note Feerings is one of the best restaurants I have ever been to. Food and service were amazing and if you live in Dallas you must go here sometime.

After Dinner we headed to the back to the bar and enjoyed some of the best people watching I have seen in years. This was the place to see and be seen in Dallas. As a bonus I got to see Sting.

My Mom and Harper came the next morning to pick us up and enjoy a wonderful brunch. Later Chris and I went to hang out with all the crazy Parrot Heads for the Jimmy Buffet concert. Words can't describe everything I saw there and some how i don't have many pictures either. We spent all day in the sun drinking cold beer and hanging out with some friends from the hood.

We finished the weekend with brunch and Blue Mesa and a little shopping.

No crazy Birthday just a good time. Here are the pics.

A Visit from Grandpa

Sorry it has been so long since my last post.  Things have been crazy around here and I pretty sure I worked at least 94 hours last week.

Harper had a great visit from her Grandpa Ron recently.  We had been expecting him for months and it had been a few years since Chris and I had seen his Dad.  It was such a fantastic visit.  I’m pretty sure that Ron fell in love with Harpy in the first few min of meeting her.  It was special to us because he is the only Grandfather she will ever have.  My father passed away 14 years ago.

Chris had a great time with his Dad and they both enjoyed the weekend. We really hope we can make a trip to Seattle soon to visit Grandpa again.  Until then we will just enjoy the memories we made.
