Good decisions

Last night Chris and I quickly realized we made a good decision last year when we decided to build a house in Craig Ranch. We participated in a Graze Around the Neighborhood event with 10 other couples last night and we had a fantastic time. There were four homes on the tour each featuring a different food and beverage theme. First stop was Tex-Mex with awesome sangria an my favorite 7-layer dip. We all choose to do a "walkpool" instead of a "carpool" as we visited each house. Yes the Rockin Ranch Mom's are going green.... Now if we could just do something about the gas guzzling trolley's that drive around the hood. Next stop was St. Louis, gate way to the west. Vicki and Paul put so much thought into their theme. They featured all food and beverage that had some connection to St. Louis and even took the time to write a little information on each item. All I say is if I am ever on Millionaire and I need a phone a friend..... Vicki & Paul are on my list. Third stop was the Dunkle house featuring delicious Mojitos. Those were so yummy that I could have drank the whole pitcher myself. We walked from house to house with red plastic cups filled with our adult beverages. I felt like I was in college all over again.... good times! Last stop was our house for desserts and open bar. Living in the burbs is anything but boring. I have attached a slide show of our evening below.

How I met your mother

This is hands down the funniest show on TV. I am so sad that I just discovered it this year. For those of you that haven't seen this show yet, it is a lot like Friends...... only Better! Reminds me of being single a 20 all over again. Check it out on CBS Monday at 7:30pm. It makes me laugh..... out loud!

Five and Five

When I met with the nutritionist at Cooper Clinic she told me that I have to implement 5 fruit servings and 5 veggie servings into my diet each day. I thought this sounded simple enough but trust me it is not easy for the "meat and potatoes" kind of girl! So today I made a commitment to reach my 5&5, and let me tell you that is what it takes to get 10 servings of fruit and veggies in one day. Just to think 2weeks ago I was bloging about the yummy goodness of Taco Cabana and today I am talking about eating healthy. Lets all hope that I stick with this. All it takes is a little commitment.

I wonder if the same 5 and 5 rules applies to adult beverages. For example when I go out should I drink 5 glasses of wine and 5 vodka sodas? If so that is a commitment that I can handle.

Fancy Pants

Last night we went out with our friends Jen and Todd. When we walked in to Blue Mesa to meet them Todd was wearing his fancy new blue jeans so I knew it was going to be a fun night. I found a drink that I LOVE...... The Watermelon Margarita at Blue Mesa. This drink is AWESOME! It taste just like a Watermelon Jolly Rancher. I enjoyed two of these wonderful concoctions over dinner and could easily of had more. After dinner we decided to head over the the Flying Saucer to check out some live music and drink beer. It has been awhile since Chris and I have hung out at a bar and I had forgot how entertaining it could be. The band was great, but the real entertainment was this really drunk girl. She was dancing and signing to every song. When she danced she would raise her hands high in the air and clap like we were at a church revival. She made friends with everyone in the bar and tried to get me to dance with her. The after a few hours things got really crazy and this chick kept trying to give every man she saw a lap dance! All I could do is sit there and laugh. Then I thought to myself....... Was I ever that drunk girl in the bar everyone was laughing at? I hope not.... but there is a strong chance that I may have been "that girl" a time or two in my life. I have included pictures for your viewing pleasure. Todd.... I will go out with you and your Fancy Pants anytime!

Como Se Dice IVF en Espanol?

Chris asked me today if we could go to Mexico to get my IVF treatments done so that we can save money. I wanted to just kill him the second he asked this. He says that people go to Mexico all the time to have plastic surgery done. Lord please help me explain to this man that I am not asking for a face lift or a new set of boobs! This is a child we are talking about!!! No expense should be spared. Chris also wants to know if there is anywhere I can go to get my fertility drugs for less money. I want to tell sure there is. I just thought it would be fun to pay the most $$ possible over the last year for my fertility drugs. But now that he mentioned it I will start getting them at Wal-Mart. Lord Please help me!!! I did find some stranger selling Follistim on Craig's List and sent the link to Chris to see what he thought. He could see how angry I was over all his comments and he told me that he will never mention the idea of low cost IVF again. All I can say is if our child turns out all jacked up it is because we got our meds on Craig's List.

In all fairness I must say Chris is a wonderful man. I don't want to make him sound cheap or bad. He has been amazing throughout this entire infertility journey. I am happy that he brings humor into a situation that needs is so much.

Tonight I had Dinner with my Dad

How could taht be possible since he passed away 11 years ago? Let me explain.

I was sick last night and felt terrible all day today. However after avoinding food for most of the day around 8pm realized I was hungary and decided I needed to try to eat something. I love to go to Luby's but Chris never really has embraced it the way I have. The main reason that I love Luby's is that it reminds me of my Father. When I was a little girl we would go to Luby's after church. I can always remember my Dad dressed in a siute and me in a Sunday dress enjoying the yummy goddness that is Luby's. Dad always ordered the same thing everytime and dessert was never left out. So tonight after a yucky day I needed a little comfort. So I went to Luby's and ordered the same meal my Dad ate for years and when I sat down it felt like he was there with me. Memories of him filled my mind and I enjoyed every second of it. Thanks Dad for meeting me at Luby's I really enjoyed our dinner together hope whe get together again soon!
