My sister Heather is away for the weekend working at a grief camp for children who have lost a loved one this year. She asked if I would help my brother in law Mike watch their 5 kids along with two of the neighbor children for the weekend. I was given the task of taking Peyton and Kyra to a church lock in last night. So at 7pm I loaded up the Suburban with Regan, Reid, Taylor, Peyton and Kyra and took the two older ones to church. I signed them in and let them know I would pick them up at 8am on Saturday. Chris and I went on and took the 3 remaining little girls to eat Pizza and then came home and called it a night.
When I picked up Peyton and Kyra this morning I asked if they had slept at all last night and the answer was No. We danced until 4:30 this morning. The remainder of the conversation went something like this.
Aunt Kiki: Were there any cute boys at the lock-in?
Kyra: Yes lots of hot ones
Peyton: I liked the one with the earring.
Aunt Kiki: Was there a little hand holding at the lock-in?
Kyra & Peyton: Oh yes there was. (giggle, giggle)
Aunt Kiki: What else?
Peyton: Arms around each other too. The 6th grade boys and girls even pt their sleeping bags next to each other when it was time to rest. But they all got in trouble for trying to share a pillow.
Aunt Kiki? Was there kissing?
Kyra: No. Ms. Mellisa said "Don't let your first kiss be in the house of God."
Aunt Kiki..... Smiling and laughing.
Oh to be 10 again...
